Fort Hills Secondary Extraction

The project, consisting of the first three subcontracts in Canada for SK Group of Korea, provided a strong start for their $3.8 Billion Secondary Extraction Silo at Fort Hills. The project consisted of site pioneering, stripping and stockpiling topsoil, rough grading (cut, fill, contouring and compacting), construction and final grading of plant roads, drainage ditches, installation of over 10 km of large diameter HDPE and carbon steel deep underground piping, installation of culverts, and the construction of a storm water pond.
