Work on this project is primarily executed during the coldest months of the year as ground must be frozen to support heavy haul trucks. As such, all equipment resources must be mobilized, all personnel must be sourced/orientated to site and trained, and all quantity must be moved in approximately 90 days of 24/7 operation. To date, the focus has been on moving LFH, Muskeg and Secondary materials from future mining areas and stockpiling it for reuse in areas that will be reclaimed and re-vegetated in the future. Future scope under the contract may include provisions to use stockpiled organics and coversoil to allow tailings facilities and previously mined areas to start to be turned back to nature.
